What does "put on blast" mean?
To “put someone on blast” means to publicly expose or embarrass someone, usually by revealing something they didn’t want others to know. It’s when someone shares something about another person they shouldn’t have shared, whether in real life or on social media.
For example, if someone says something rude and someone else posts screenshots of their texts to call them out, they’re being put on blast. It’s done to hold people accountable or shame them for their behavior, especially when it is unfair, dishonest, or hypocritical.
Being put on blast can be messy and while it’s meant to call out their behavior it can also cross boundaries and or backfire if it’s seen as too much.
