What does "FYP" mean?
FYP stands for For You Page and refers to the personalized feed of videos that appear on TikTok’s main screen when you open the app.
The FYP is where TikTok suggests content based on what it thinks you’ll like, using an algorithm that takes into account the videos you’ve liked, shared, and watched. It’s basically a curated stream of content meant just for you.
For example, if you watch a lot of cooking videos, your FYP might show you more recipes or food-related content. The FYP is one of the reasons TikTok is so addictive—users constantly discover new and relevant content that matches their interests, making it easy to keep scrolling.
Creators often use the hashtag #fyp in their posts, hoping it will help their content get featured on more people’s For You Pages. However, using #FYP won’t necessarily improve your chances, because every FYP is personalized.
There isn’t just one FYP; each user has their own unique feed tailored to their specific preferences. Instead of relying on a hashtag, it’s better to focus on creating engaging content that aligns with what people are already interacting with.
