What does "ick" mean?
Basically, “ick” is that instant feeling of being repulsed that makes you lose interest in someone, often over a tiny, unexpected thing. It’s mostly used in a joking way, not too seriously.
Once the “ick” hits, it’s pretty hard to ignore, and you just don’t feel the same way about that person anymore.
For instance, if someone says, “I got the ick when I saw him chew with his mouth open,” it means that little thing was enough to make them not attracted to him anymore. Everyone gets the ick from different things, what freaks one person out might not bother someone else at all.
It’s a term that’s popped up a lot in social media posts where people share these funny or awkward moments.
