What does "flop era" mean?

A Flop Era is a humorous way of saying someone or something is going through a rough patch, where things aren’t going as well as they used to. It’s often used to describe a celebrity, artist, or influencer who used to be very popular or successful but is currently experiencing a decline in their career or reputation.

For example, if a pop star releases an album that doesn’t do as well as their previous hits, fans or critics might jokingly say they’re in their “flop era.” It’s not meant to be super harsh—it’s often said in a lighthearted or sarcastic way. 

People even use it to describe their own lives, like “I’m in my flop era” when they feel like they’re having a string of bad luck or aren’t meeting their own expectations.
