What is a PSA?

PSA stands for Public Service Announcement, and it’s a message shared with the public to inform or educate them about important issues, usually for the purpose of raising awareness or promoting positive behavior.

PSAs are often issued by government agencies, non-profits, or organizations looking to encourage people to act in the public’s best interest, such as health, safety, or environmental causes.

For example, during flu season, a government health agency might issue a PSA reminding people to get vaccinated and practice good hygiene to avoid getting sick. Similarly, a PSA might encourage people to wear seat belts, stop smoking, or conserve water during a drought.

PSAs are typically non-commercial and focus on spreading valuable information rather than promoting products or services. You’ll often see PSAs on TV, radio, social media, or billboards, and they are usually created to serve the public good.
