The best time to post on LinkedIn is Wednesday at 8 AM.
We know because we analyzed 494,774 posts published over six months, looking at impressions and interactions to see when posts actually performed best.
Of course, one perfect posting time isn’t particularly useful if you publish several times a week. So we also looked at the best days to post, the hours that consistently underperform, and the strongest posting window for every day of the week.
And one quick note before we get into the data: all times are local. So if we say 8 AM is the best time to post, that means 8 AM in your local time.
Short summary
- The best time to post on LinkedIn is between 7 and 9 AM local time, the strongest early morning hours across our analysis of 494,774 posts.
- Wednesday is the best day to post on LinkedIn, with Thursday close behind. Tuesday also performs well, making the middle of the workweek your strongest bet.
- Wednesday at 8 AM is the best overall time to post, delivering the highest engagement rate of any slot we analyzed.
- If mornings don’t work for you, test the 8 to 11 PM evening window. We saw some surprisingly strong engagement during those evening hours.
- Avoid posting between 5 and 6 AM, 12 and 2 PM, and around 6 PM, when performance tends to drop.
- Sunday is the worst day to post on LinkedIn, while Saturday also underperforms compared to weekdays.
- Treat these times as benchmarks rather than fixed rules. Start with the strongest windows from our data, then use your own LinkedIn analytics to find when your audience is most responsive.
What is the best time to post on LinkedIn to maximise engagement?
The best time to post on LinkedIn is between 7 and 9 AM, regardless of the day of the week.
Morning is the clear winner in our data. More than 46% of posts published between 7 and 9 AM received the most interaction.
Engagement rates followed the same pattern. The best morning slots reached 6.6% to 8% engagement rates, compared to roughly 3.5% to 5% around lunch break time and later in the afternoon.
But mornings aren’t your only option.
There’s a smaller, surprisingly strong window between 8 and 11 PM. Some of these evening slots recorded engagement rates above 12%, even after we accounted for viral outliers. So if your audience is active after work, evening posts are worth experimenting with.
What is the best day to post on LinkedIn?
Wednesday is the best day to post on LinkedIn, with Thursday close behind.
Wednesday recorded the highest average interactions per post at 13.8, compared to roughly 13 to 13.5 across the other weekdays. Thursday, meanwhile, had the highest overall engagement rate at 6.7%. Tuesday came in third.
There’s a pretty clear pattern here: LinkedIn engagement builds through the first half of the workweek, peaks on Wednesday and Thursday, then starts to slow down. Once Friday arrives, weekend engagement drops considerably.
And if you combine the strongest day with the strongest time, you get the best-performing slot in our entire dataset: Wednesday at 8 AM.

| Tuesday | 8-9 AM |

What is the best time to post on LinkedIn on Monday?
The best time to post on LinkedIn on Monday is between 8 and 9 AM.
Miss the morning? 3 PM is your next best option, with performance picking up again after the lunchtime dip.
There’s also a surprisingly strong window around 10 PM, when engagement rates climb above 12%. It’s worth testing if your audience tends to scroll LinkedIn after work, but I’d still prioritize the more reliable 8 to 9 AM window.
What is the best time to post on LinkedIn on Tuesday?
The best time to post on LinkedIn on Tuesday is between 8 and 9 AM.
But Tuesday gives you another good option. Posts published between 8 and 9 PM reached engagement rates above 12%, making this one of the strongest evening windows in our dataset. And the pattern held even after we accounted for viral outliers.
So if you can’t catch the morning window, Tuesday evening is well worth testing.
What is the best time to post on LinkedIn on Wednesday?
The best time to post on LinkedIn on Wednesday is 8 AM. It’s also the best overall slot in our entire dataset.
Posts published at this time were roughly 40% more likely to receive engagement than posts in the average time slot, while maintaining a solid 6.6% engagement rate. In other words, Wednesday at 8 AM gives your post the best chance of gaining traction.
If you miss it, 5 PM is your next best option. Just don’t wait too long, because performance drops noticeably by 6 PM.
What is the best time to post on LinkedIn on Thursday?
The best time to post on LinkedIn on Thursday is between 7 and 9 AM.
Thursday morning comes very close to Wednesday. Posts published between 7 and 8 AM earned engagement rates of 7.8% to 8%, the highest among the prime morning slots we analyzed and roughly double the engagement rates we saw around midday.
What is the best time to post on LinkedIn on Friday?
The best time to post on LinkedIn on Friday is between 8 and 9 AM, with 5 PM as a backup.
Friday mornings still hold up relatively well compared to the stronger midweek days. But once lunchtime arrives, performance starts to slip.
What is the best time to post on LinkedIn on Saturday?
If you need to post on LinkedIn on Saturday, aim for around 4 to 5 PM. Otherwise, your post can probably wait until the workweek.
Saturday is the second-worst day in our analysis, and mornings are particularly quiet. Posts published between 5 and 9 AM were the least likely to gain traction, earning engagement at barely half the rate of a weekday morning. The 1 to 2 PM window wasn’t much better.
Things pick up slightly around 4 to 5 PM, making late afternoon your best option for a Saturday post.
What is the best time to post on LinkedIn on Sunday?
There isn’t really a good time to post on LinkedIn on Sunday. If your post can wait, save it for Monday morning.
Sunday had the weakest performance of any day we analyzed, with a 4.2% engagement rate, roughly a third lower than any other day of the week. The period between 8 AM and 1 PM was particularly weak.
If you absolutely need to publish on Sunday, late evening is your best bet. Performance improves slightly toward the end of the day, but Monday at 8 AM will generally give your post a better chance.
What is the worst time to post on LinkedIn?
The worst times to post on LinkedIn are between 5 and 6 AM, around lunchtime from 12 to 2 PM, and at 6 PM.
At 5 to 6 AM, you’re simply posting too early. Your content is already a few hours old by the time the much stronger 7 to 9 AM window rolls around. Friday at 5 AM was particularly weak, ranking among the worst weekday slots in our dataset.
Lunch isn’t much better. Posts published between 12 and 2 PM received 20% to 30% fewer interactions than those published during the morning window.
Then there’s 6 PM. Engagement dips again around this time, with Wednesday at 6 PM standing out as a particularly weak slot, despite Wednesday being the strongest day overall.
You might spot a few strange overnight spikes in the raw data, including posts published around 3 AM with unusually high interaction counts. Don’t rush to change your schedule. Those results came from a small number of viral posts rather than a consistent pattern you can reliably replicate.
What is the worst day to post for your LinkedIn strategy?
Sunday is the worst day to post on LinkedIn, with Saturday not far behind.
Sunday posts had an average engagement rate of 4.2%, the lowest of any day we analyzed.
Saturday doesn’t offer much relief. Saturday mornings and early afternoons were among the weakest periods in the entire dataset, with barely a third of posts receiving any engagement.
So unless you have a specific reason to publish on the weekend, save your strongest content for the workweek. If Saturday posting is unavoidable, 4 to 5 PM is your best bet. For Sunday, you’re generally better off waiting until Monday morning.
Schedule posts on LinkedIn at the right time with SocialBee
If you want a simple place to start, post Tuesday through Thursday between 7 and 9 AM in your audience’s local time. That’s where our analysis found the most consistent performance, with Wednesday at 8 AM standing out as the strongest individual slot.
But timing should get more personalized as you collect data.
Pay attention to which days and hours consistently work for your own target audience, test alternatives like the evening window, and adjust your schedule accordingly. The goal isn’t to publish at the statistically “perfect” time forever. It’s to use these benchmarks to reach your own best posting time faster and get LinkedIn’s algorithm by your side.
And you don’t need to be online every Wednesday at 8 AM to make that happen. With SocialBee, you can build your LinkedIn schedule in advance and automatically publish posts at the times you want to test.
Start your 14-day SocialBee trial and put your LinkedIn posting schedule on autopilot.
